Dr. Akiko Iwasaki is the Sterling Professor of Immunobiology and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of immune defense against viruses at the mucosal surfaces, and the development of mucosal vaccine strategies. She is active on social media and works to combat mis- and disinformation surrounding science.

Dr. Aimee Bernard is an Assistant Professor of Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Colorado. As a faculty mentor, she guides a group of volunteer graduate students from all across campus to run a non-profit, after-school science program – Think Like a Scientist. In her role as the Executive Director of the Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Initiative (HI3) Aimee coordinates the development of the research and clinical infrastructure necessary to create an all-inclusive, premier facility for the discovery and use of human immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases.
